Buffon’s Injury

On the Italian prime match in Group F of the 2010 World Cup against Paraguay on Tuesday (06/15/2010), Coach Marcello Lippi made a shocking choice. At the opening of the second half, Lippi took the main goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon out of the field and put Federico Marchetti.

Apparently, his decision was very sensible for the reason that Buffon had a little injury at his back. As a result, this Juventus goalkeeper could not continue the game. On 45 minutes the second half of the duel at the Stadium of Cape Town, Marchetti, Cagliari then replaced his position.

Though, Buffon’s injury is not too serious as he is positive to recover in two days. Therefore, the number one “GLI Azzurri” goalkeeper said that when they play on the second group stage match against New Zealand on next June 20, his condition must have been 100 percent fit.
